Our Mission

"To provide information, education, benefits and representation to the volunteer fire service in the Kittitas Valley, in order to support volunteerism, enhance the community, and help our neighbors."

The Kittitas Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association (KVVFA) is a Washington State nonprofit corporation organized to serve the volunteer firefighters who protect our community. We exist to ensure that volunteers have the support, resources, and representation they need to continue their vital service.

Our Objectives

Six core objectives guide everything we do.

Promotion of fire prevention, life safety, and first responder benefits through education.

Advancement of fire suppression and EMS services in the Kittitas Valley through education, training, and community engagement.

Promotion, advancement, retention, and representation of volunteer firefighters in the Kittitas Valley.

Cultivation of closer partnerships between volunteers, career staff, and leadership of fire districts.

Support of the community within the boundaries of Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 2.

6

Sponsorship of periodic events and outreach to strengthen community connections.

March 12, 2026

Incorporation

KVVFA was officially incorporated as a Washington State nonprofit corporation, establishing a formal organization to support volunteer firefighters in the Kittitas Valley.

March 19, 2026

First Meeting & Board Election

The inaugural meeting of the KVVFA was held. Members adopted the bylaws and elected the first Board of Directors to lead the organization forward.

2026 and Beyond

Building the Future

KVVFA is pursuing 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and working to grow membership, establish programs, and strengthen the volunteer fire service across the valley.

Organization Structure

KVVFA is a charitable nonprofit corporation organized under RCW 24.03A.010(6) of Washington State law. The association is governed by a five-member Board of Directors elected by the membership.

The association maintains two funds: a General Fund for operating expenses and programs, and a Benevolent Fund dedicated to assisting members, their families, and others in the community who are in need.

KVVFA works closely with Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue (KVFR) and serves the community within the boundaries of Kittitas County Fire Protection District No. 2. Our membership is drawn from the dedicated volunteer firefighters who serve KVFR.
